About the 2019 J – TEAM

JCC Association has started a continental delegation called the J-TEAM that is designed for athletes and artists from various locations across the US and Canada who either don’t live near a participating JCC or belong/ are close to a JCC that is not sending a delegation to the games. The teens will be a part of a delegation just like the rest with swag, coaches, uniforms, and logos the only difference is that instead of representing a city or community they will be from all over North America. The teens will have a chance to bond as a team the weekend before the games begin at a JCC Maccabi Games pre-weekend full of programming, practice, and fun.

2018 was my first year of Maccabi and I couldn’t have asked for a better week! I had so much fun running and met the most amazing people from all around the world that are now some of my closest friends!
Rachel Morros- Track & Field

When I describe Maccabi to my friends I always say, it’s the most fun week of the year,…every year!

About JCC Maccabi

The JCC Maccabi Games are an international athletic competition for Jewish teenagers run much like the Olympics. Athletes can compete against Jewish teens from all over the United States as well as delegations from Israel, Great Britain, Mexico, Canada, and more! The games are played with a focus on “rachmanus” or sportsmanship with the intent to foster long-lasting memories and identification with Judaism and Israel. The Games also promote community involvement, teamwork, and pride in being Jewish. The Games are the largest Jewish teen event in the world. Over 100,000 teens have benefited from the JCC Maccabi Games since 1982. At this Jewish Olympic style event, each athlete participates in one of fourteen sports, social events, and an opportunity to give back to the community during this week-long experience, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

JCC Maccabi ArtsFest® is a week-long summer arts experience for creative Jewish teens ages 12-17, featuring workshops in a variety of specialties with some of the leading artists in each field and incorporating community service, social activities, and themes of Jewish heritage, community, and Israel. The JCC Maccabi ArtsFest combined with the JCC Maccabi Games creates one joint JCC Maccabi Experience, which gives our participants the opportunity to be a part of a larger Jewish teen community and allows us to offer them so much more. This combined model offers our artists the opportunity to partake in intimate master classes during the day and party at the largest Jewish teen block party at night.
